Aditya Birla Group retail venture has confirmed that it will go ahead with its original plan to roll out hypermarkets called FabCity in Chennai, Coimbatore and Bangalore. The company has also planned to roll out such stores in some two tier cities in South India.
Birla Retail has acquired Andhra Pradesh based food and grocery retail chain Trinethra Super Retail Ltd. First of such Hypermarkets would be rolled out in Mysore by mid January 2007. This stores will have retail space of 50, 000 sq.ft, and will have range of products to offer.
