Indian Tobacco Company (ITC) has announced that it has registered a net profit of Rs 717.4 crore, for Q3 ended December 31, 2006. Compared to same period corresponding year the net profits have risen to approximately 33.6 per cent.
This rise in the company’s quarterly net sales has been attributed to non-cigarette FMCG businesses, higher agri-business revenues and the continuing strong performance of the hotels business. The net turnover at Rs 3,166 crore is mainly driven by the non-cigarette businesses, which grew by 31 per cent during the quarter.
