Russia’s largest mobile handset retailer, Euroset, has planned to roll out its first outlet in India by this month’s end.
Sources have confirmed that Ansal API is in talks with Euroset to become partner in India, though nothing has been finalized as yet. Euroset, a $2.5-billion company has about 5,000 retail outlets in Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, and Lithuania. It has planned to roll out 5,500 retail outlets through out India in the next two years.
Mobile retail sales in Russia have gone down by over 14 per cent in 2006 to 29.3 million units, Euroset plans to enter emerging telecom markets like India, Turkey, Hungary and Pakistan.
