Foreign entertainment conglomerates including US-based Time Warner and Australia-based Hoyts are in talks with real estate developers in India, among them DLF Group, Raheja Group and Sobha Developers, to set up chains of multiplexes. South Korean multiplex operator Megabox is also believed to be assessing the Indian market.
Any deal is likely to be struck only in the next six to 12 months, while multiplexes should get operational in the next two years.
