To cash in on the Rs 1,000 crore mobile phone market in South India, Mobile Magic has laid out aggressive plans to introduce 250 stores in the region by 2009. The company also plans to have 1,000 stores across India by 2010. As part of the initiative, four stores have been opened in Bangalore, with plans to set up 20 stores in the city in the next six months.
Vivek Palod, director, Mobile Magic, said, “The mobile phone market in South India is growing fast, especially with the entrance of new players concentrating on this sector. The latest expansion is in line with the strategic focus we are taking to meet the growing business. We are entering the southern region through Bangalore, and will go to other southern markets to drive the growth further.”
