Big Bazaar opens its fifth outlet in Andhra Pradesh with its Vijayawada launch. The Vijayawada outlet is Big Bazaar’s 68th in India. According to company officials, the company’s business in this southern state is estimated to reach Rs 600 crore by March 2008.
Speaking at the launch, Silas Paud, regional manager, PRIL, and Rohit Malhotra, head, South Zone, PRIL, stated that Big Bazaar’s turnover target for the current fiscal is Rs 6,500 crore, while the target for 2010 is to the tune of Rs 13,000 crore.
