Delhi to experience ensemble of international superbrands courtesy Select Citywalk

Must Read

Come October 12, and Delhi will see doors opening to the hoard of high-end brands that fashion connoisseurs in the city must have longed for.

Major Brands India, the company that is India licensee for many high-end foreign brands, is set to introduce most of its accredited labels in Delhi as it has occupied space in Select Citywalk, opening formaly on the 12th of October.

“We are introducing almost the whole of our international brands portfolio in the city. Aldo, La Senza, Promod and Charles & Keith will be sold through exclusive outlets, which will be operational from October 12, when Select Citywalk opens. Mango and Nine West, which are already in the city, are also expanding as they have booked space in the mall. The company has also occupied space in Ambi Mall and most of these brands will be retailed there,” Shivani Goel, executive advertising, Major Brands, told Indiaretailing.

Esprit is another fashion biggie that will open its flagship store for Delhi, taking up about 12,000 square feet at the mall. Following suit, Eicher Group’s lifestyle brand Goodearth will assume position as one of the anchors with a 27,000 square feet flagship – Goodearth Verandah. The elevated New Delhi Dome, which is Citywalk’s showcase for luxury brands, is occupied by luxury brands like Salvatore Ferragamo and Aigner.

“For the first time, there will be such an ensemble of international superbrands,” Pranay Sinha, president and CEO, had told Indiaretailing while confirming the launch of Select Citywalk.

Other high-profile confirmed lodgers at the mall include The Body Shop, Clinique, and Tommy Hilfiger, in addition to premium and mid-premium labels like Fab India, Kimaya, L’Affaire, Gant, FCUK, Accessorize, EDC, and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

K Raheja group too is introducing its bouquet with Mothercare and Crossword openings, and PVR Cinemas with a six-screen multiplex. Pantaloons and Home Stop have also reserved their retail destinations at the mall.

This $120 million mega project from Select Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd seems just the place for many high-end brands that in general complain of unavailability of appropriate retail space commensurate with their standards. On the other hand, there’s an array of super-premium brands that restrict themselves to the seven-star arcades. Can Citywalk pull them aboard, is a question that is bound to find clarity soon enough.
