Vimal, the textile brand of Reliance Industries Ltd, yesterday unveiled its redesigned exclusive store in Bangalore. This follows the opening of its first revamped outlet in Ahmedabad earlier this month. As part of its brand re-launch strategy, Vimal will be launching 24 exclusive stores in one year in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kochi, among other locations. Additionally, RIL will set up 200 franchisee-run stores across India.
“In our brand re-launch strategy, we will be revamping everything, from the fibre to what is finally presented to the consumer,” said Anand Parekh, president, Textile Business, RIL.
These outlets will not only offer latest fabrics for premium menswear, but also men’s apparels including shirts, jackets, trousers and accessories.
“About 70 per cent of the urban people now prefer ready-to-wear garments, and of this, 55 per cent is branded. Our strategy is to offer innovative and premium products at great prices to cater to this segment,” Parekh added.
Men’s apparel will be available in sub-brands – Vimal Red, which will have apparel in the popular pricing segment; Vimal White will offer premium, trendy apparel; and Vimal Black, with exclusive fine-crafted apparel, designed in Italian fashion.
The new stores will also offer facilities such as custom tailoring and styling. For this, the company has collaborated with Italian fashion designers for training tailors in latest fashion and style. It has so far trained 110 tailors and has a target of training 500 more in the coming year.
