London design consultancy Portland has been selected to develop the retail concept and planning principles, store graphics and brand language for the three-level 5,000 square metres Shoppers’ Stop in Hyderabad.
The store to be operational by the first half of next year will provide a complete lifestyle-driven retail experience in terms of merchandise categories and brands. Portland will also be responsible for the planning and design of each of these key retail categories, including an in-store cafe.
“Our design will help to make the Shoppers’ Stop stores more relevant to the aspirations of the new Indian consumers. Rapid expansion of the middle classes and the increased spending power of women are driving aspirations for improved shopping experiences,” said Lewis Allen, director of Retail at Portland.
Portland is an international design consultancy specialising in the retail, leisure and travel sectors enjoying a wide and diverse client base around the world.
It is currently working on several projects including Bangalore International Airport.
