To gear up apparel industry professionals with right aptitude and skills of retail operations and retail merchandising, Institute of Apparel Management (IAM) has commenced a one-year part-time course on Apparel Retail Merchandising.
The programme is on Saturday module so that students can work while studying.
The orientation programme was conducted on November 24, 2007, where dignitaries from various retail chains and brands participated and shared their thoughts on prospects for the industry.
The programme provides detailed knowledge on subjects including retail management, merchandising, store operations, customer relationship management, visual merchandising, product range planning, retail technology, business strategy, product knowledge, fashion illustrations, merchandise planning and vendor management.
The teaching pedagogy of the programme includes lectures, interactive presentations, and individual and team projects. Emphasis will also be given on applicability of knowledge by means of class exercises, field trips, industry visits and case studies.
