India’s leading construction company, Unitech, plans to develop 48 malls and shopping centers over the next six years involving an investment of about Rs 20,000 crore.
The malls which will be constructed in phases would cover more than 20 million square feet in the first phase and six of the malls are already under construction, a company release said.
The company said the Tier One cities would be the target in the first phase of this massive mall construction programme chalked out by it.
Metros like NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai will have eight malls of one million sq feet. The land acquisition process is over for 18 of the malls and shopping centres.
