Following fashion majors like Reebok, Koutons and Spykar, who recently unveiled their kidswear entry plans, Italian sportswear brand Kappa also confirmed launch of children’s range by the middle of this year.
Kappa will not only introduce sportswear line for kids, but will also have a range for infants aged between 3 and 24 months along with youthwear targeting 6-16 years old.
Though price points have not been disclosed, the collection will be positioned in mid-market to premium range.
According to Images-Technopak study, the value of kidswear market is worth 24,280 crore (including uniforms), and the segment constitutes 13 per cent of the total apparel market size, where 87 per cent of ready-to-wear is dominated by unbranded apparel. This is where brands see scope and opportunity, backed by deep Indian pockets.
