Hindware, India’a largest sanitaryware manufacturer, is extending its branded arms from bathrooms and kitchens to the entire home. The company will soon open a chain of home-interior stores called Evok.
The company, with an investment of Rs 250 crore, will open 50 Evok stores. To operate these new stores, the company has also formed a new subsidiary – Hindustan Home Retail Pvt. Ltd (HHRL).
“Initially we’ll launch three stores, one each in Delhi, Faridabad and Gurgaon, in the mid of February,” a company official told Indiaretailing. Evok will also open in tier II and III cities later.
The Evok concept resembles that of Pottery Barn, a popular US-based home furnishing retailer, wherein stores, spread across 8,000 square feet to 30,000 square feet, are in three different formats – living, kitchen and bath.
“We will cater to the mass and middle class customers, and also work in close association with architects, interior designers, builders and corporate community,” the official added.
HHRL will also provide personalised home interior planning and design services to assist homemakers in visualising, choosing and creating their desired habitats.
