From apparel and customer durables, to grocery and now homes, Pantaloon Retail apparently wants to brand everything. The company will enter the real estate market by selling branded ‘walk-in apartments’ through its subsidiary, Home Solutions Retail.
“These apartments will be ready to live in with well furnished interiors,” Hemchandra Javeri, chief executive officer, Home Solutions Retail, told Indiaretailing.
Home Solutions Retail, with a majority stake, has already floated a joint venture with FH Residences, a Kolkata-based real estate developer.
The company is looking for partners in other states for a similar venture.
Targeting middle-income families, the two/three-bedroom apartments will be built in cities with a high level of economic activity.
The company will advertise this concept in Big Bazaar outlets and other retail chains from Pantaloons.
