Encouraged by the growing sales of Levi’s footwear, SSIPL Retail Pvt. Ltd, the India franchisee of the brand, is planning to set up standalone outlets of Levi’s footwear by early next year.
“Our company is in talks with Levi’s parent company in the United States to set up an exclusive retail store for footwear in India. If we are able to convince, then India will become the first country to have an exclusive brand store for Levi’s footwear,” SSIPL Retail Managing Director Rishabh Soni told PTI.
“The Levi’s footwear business is growing steadily, and is expected to touch a topline of Rs 200 crore over the next three years,” he added.
At present, Levi’s shoes are retailed through Levi’s apparel stores and multi-brand retail stores globally.
In India, the company is planning to increase the brand’s presence by adding 110 new sales points across the country. It presently retails Levi’s shoes through 85 multi-brand retail outlets, which include shop-in-shops at Levi’s apparel outlets and other retail chains like Shoppers’ Stop, Pantaloons, Reliance Retail and Big Bazaar.
