CB Bhave, who is currently the chairman of National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL), will take charge as the chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) from February 18.
Bhave will replace the present chairman, M Damodaran, whose three-year term ends today.
Sources said that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Bhave’s name as the next SEBI chief, based on the recommendations of a selection committee headed by the cabinet secretary, KM Chandrasekhar.
