Hyderabad and Kolkata will soon see new Shoppers’ Stop stores, as the company is in process of developing its properties in these cities and these are expected to be launched in March and April, respectively.
“We are planning to open a store each in Kolkata and Hyderabad. The Kolkata store will be launched in March, while Hyderabad will get another new store in April,” Govind Shrikhande, chief executive officer, Shoppers’ Stop, informed Indiaretailing.
In Kolkata, the new Shoppers’ Stop will open at Shreeram Arcade and will be the company’s third store in the city – it is already present at Forum Mall and Salt Lake. The first Shoppers’ Stop in Hyderabad is located at Begumpat.
Asked if the company will introduce any new foreign or national brand at the new stores, Shrikhande said, “As of now, nothing is on the cards. However, all major brands associated with Shoppers’ will be present at the new stores as well.”
Shrikhande denied media reports on the company’s association with John Lewis, one of the leading retail chains in the United Kingdom.
