E-City Ventures, the corporate brand representing various interests in the cinema exhibition and retail real estate business of Essel Group, last month appointed Ajay Mehra as CEO, Fun Multiplex Pvt. Ltd to spearhead their growth and consolidation strategy for its cinema exhibition business.
Mehra will also spearhead the other SBUs of E-City’s cinema exhibition business: E-City Digital, the company that operates 110 screens by digitising cinema content, and E-City Media, which manages and sells on-screen and off-screen advertising and branding for multiplex players and mall operators across the country.
Ajay is a business management graduate with over 25 years of experience across FMCG and retail. His last stint was as CEO, Times Retail, a division of Bennett, Coleman & Co., where, as business head, he helped in successful expansion of the Planet M chain from four to over 150 locations.
Fun Cinemas operates 56 cinema screens in 14 cities and 17 locations
