Home Solutions Retail India (HSRIL), a part of Future Group, has launched Bijli Ghar, a retail label to sell lightings and electrical products. This is for the first time in India that an organised retailer is putting in efforts to cash in on the burgeoning demand for decorative lighting.
“Bijli Ghar is expected to open in the middle of next month. However, the date has not been decided yet,” Hemchandra Javeri, chief executive, HSRIL, told Indiaretailing, while confirming the news.
HSRIL has chalked out plans to open around 80 Bijli Ghar outlets across Big Bazaar stores across the country, and will subsequently open standalone outlets as well.
The company has formed another JV called Asian Retail Lighting, with Asian Electronic, to sell lighting and electrical products to retailers such as Pantaloon, Provogue, and Metro Cash & Carry.
