Samsung Telecommunications India, the mobile-phone arm of the Korean consumer electronics major Samsung, has signed exclusive agreements with around 40 distributors who were earlier working with Nokia.
Sunil Dutt, head, Samsung Telecom India, in a statement said, “A large number of big multi-brand and single-brand retailers are now moving to Samsung’s fold as Samsung Mobile Privilege Partner (SMPP). The SMPP retailers were around 100 last year, which is expected to grow by four times this year.”
“We have initiated a market-mapping exercise to get a good distribution network that will contribute in strengthening Samsung’s reach in the market,” informed Dutt.
According to the company, the new distributors who have joined hands with Samsung will provide significant upside to the company’s business. This includes big regional distributors such as Sangam Sales and Muskan in Punjab.
