Vimal, the flagship textile brand of Reliance Industries Ltd, is bullish on its plans to open exclusive brand outlets throughout the country. The company today opened an exclusive brand outlet at Kochi, its first in Kerala.
Confirming their plans, Anand Parekh, president, textile business, Reliance Industries Ltd, told Indiaretailing, “We are in our first phase of expansions, and by the end of the second phase, we want to accomplish a pan-India presence.”
Speaking to the media at the Kerala store launch, Srinivasan Padmanabhan, chief operating officer, Textile Business, Reliance Industries, said: “This store marks our entry in Kerala and we plan to roll out more such stores at a later stage.”
At present, the company operates one outlet each in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai, and will add another one in Bengaluru this month. Besides, as part of phase I of its expansion, the company will open 24 new outlets this year, while in phase II, which begins in the next financial year, it plans to launch 18 stores countrywide.
Elaborating on the merchandise to be stocked, Parekh said that their stores will retail Vimal’s three sub-brands including Vimal Red, Vimal White and Vimal Black. The Vimal Red category includes regular formals; Vimal White is a casual range of apparel; and Vimal Black is a premium range.
