Bengaluru-based Namdhari’s Fresh, the vegetable retailing unit of Namdhari Seeds, is bullish on its plans to expand its network of stores across the country.
Confirming the news to Indiaretailing, Aditya Vikram, general manager, retail operations, Namdhari’s Fresh, said, “We provide a unique retail environment and sell fresh vegetables and fruits brought directly from the farms. We want to have strong presence in the market by expanding our network throughout the country.” However, Vikram did not name the cities on the cards.
The company currently operates 14 outlets in Bengaluru. Besides, it has stores in Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Pune.
Speaking about their products, Vikram said, “The store specialises in exotic vegetables grown at its own farm in Bidadi in Bengaluru. Besides, a majority of the vegetables and fruits are sourced directly from farmers across the country.” Presently, all Namdhari’s Fresh outlets house a salad bar, which serves Mexican, French and Italian salads.
The company, to ensure the freshness of the vegetables, operates a network of cold store chain. “The harvested vegetables are transported in refrigerated trucks and transferred to the pre-cooling room for storage,” said Vikram.
Namdhari’s opened their first outlet in 2000, in Bengaluru.
