Vishal Retail has devised a new branding strategy that will not only publicise the ‘Vishal’ brand, but will also strengthen kiranas to compete corporates in the business of retail.
The company will partner local kirana and allow them to use ‘Vishal’ brand name, and will also provide them with latest technology and other retail solutions that are used by modern retailers. The company will even pay retailers who associate with them.
Confirming the news to Indiaretailing, Ram Chandra Agarwal, chairman, Vishal Retail, said, “We have planned to expand our reach to our costumers by retailing groceries through the kiranas who will be our franchisees.”
Elaborating model, Agarwal said, “We will partner various mom and pop stores across the country. This will help the kiranas to earn more than what they earn now. We will pay them for using our brand name.”
According to the plan, Vishal Retail will completely take over the supply chain of kirana stores and equip them with technology and help them in enhancing visual merchandising. The company will also adopt special promotional schemes.
“We are in talks with various retailers. Hopefully, we will be able to initiate operations this year,” Agarwal said.
Agarwal rebuffed media reports announcing Vishal Megamart’s entry in real estate business. “We are planning to expand our business operations, and real estate is one of those many projects under consideration. Our entry in real estate business is not yet final.”
