With the opening of a 2,000 square feet showroom in Lucknow, the UP-based Somany Ceramics Ltd (SCL) has made its debut in the country’s retailing sector. The company has invested around Rs 25 lakh for this outlet.
Addressing the media, Abhishek Somany, joint managing director, SCL, said: “We have been delivering our products across the state since long, and now shall focus largely on retail.”
Citing reasons for opening their first outlet in Uttar Pradesh, Anil K Beejawat, president, SCL, said: “In India the retail industry is growing at the pace of 15 per cent, and the growth in Uttar Pradesh is around 20 per cent. This speaks for the state’s potential.”
