With the launch of Trident Homescapes, the Trident Group’s first lifestyle store in India at Chandigarh, the $375-million company announced its entry into the business of retail. Targeting chain of 300 lifestyle stores in three years, the company will open 30 retail stores within one year.
The store will primarily retail the company’s towel brands and offer home furnishings and imported designer glasses later.
Trident Group retail head Sugato Bose said: “We want to create a niche market for towels in the Indian retail sector. The trend for buying towels like other clothes of various brands is not there.”
