Jeevansathi.com, the popular matchmaking site, has gone the retail way with the opening of its brick-and-mortar retail point, called ‘Jeevansathi.com match point’, at Lucknow. The size of the outlet is 250 square feet. In the next six months, 25 to 30 Jeevansathi.com match points are planned across India.
“Since some parents are uncomfortable with the internet, we see a bias towards traditional media like newspapers and marriage bureaus for finding a match. Our retail initiative will help us tap into this critical segment,” said Swapnil Tripathi, VP, consumer services and operations, Info Edge, the company behind Jeevansathi.com.
Apart from exclusive outlets, Jeevansathi.com offline business will capitalise on the existing network of 61 offices of Naukri.com in 41 cities, the company said.
Jeevansathi.com match points will utilise its online database to provide matchmaking services. Counsellors at the outlet will guide consumers in finding a perfect match on the basis of age, religion, caste, profession and location. Registered members will subsequently receive the matching profiles on a regular basis.
