Henkel group’s premium hair-product brand Schwarzkopf Professional has tied up with the salon chain Lakme. Under this pact, Lakme will use Schwarzkopf haircare products in all its salons. In return, Schwarzkopf will provide training for hairdressers in the salons.
According to KA Murali Sundar, country head, Schwarzkopf, the brand is number two in the country with 20 per cent share of the Rs 100 crore haircare market. L’Oreal is the market leader with 60 per cent share. While the market is growing at 25 per cent a year, Schwarzkopf hopes to grow 40 per cent to touch Rs 28 crore during the current fiscal.
Schwarzkopf has similar tie-ups with over 1,000 standalone salons, while Lakme has over 100 salons across the country.
