To capitalise on growth opportunities in the Indian market, the US-based designerwear company Calvin Klein has planned to bring its entire portfolio of brands to India in the next two years.
“We are closely monitoring the roll out of our competitor Emporio Armani in India and might consider launching our brands by the next two to three years,” said Oliver Kaye, Calvin Klein business head.
The company has four brands, of which two — Calvin Klein Underwear and Calvin Klein Jeans — are already available in India. Formalwear brands Calvin Klein Collection and Calvin Klein Bridge will be the new launches.
Besides, the brand has also planned to open around 30 stores in the country by March 2009. Presently, Calvin Klein operates nine stores in cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune, and plans to enter Chennai, Hyderabad and Punjab this year.
