Nanded, one of the significant pilgrimage centres of the Sikhs, is all set to get its first shopping mall as EWDPL India Pvt. Ltd (EWDPL) is setting up its ‘Treasure Bazaar’, the neighbourhood-mall format, in the town.
Treasure Bazaar is being built on the Nanded-Latur Road in the Marathwada region, on the borders of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, and is located about 2.5 kilometres from the heart of the city. The mall is expected to be operational by the end of this year.
Spread over 3.3 lakh square feet, the mall will have five floors above the ground and basement levels, and offer an assortment of national brands, a multiplex, hypermarkets, food courts and a three-star hotel, in addition to multi-level parking space.
Treasure Bazaar will enjoy the first-mover advantage here, considering the pent-up consumption demand the city has seen in recent years.
According to the company’s media release, Nanded being one of the emerging cities with a steady population growth, provides a great opportunity for Treasure Bazaar. Moreover, the proposals of shifting Mondha, a wholesale market, and a medical institute in proximity to the mall will contribute largely in increasing the footfalls. The commercial potential lies unexplored and nascent in Nanded, with its developing roadways and airways.
