With an investment of around Rs 15 crore, Pantaloon Retail (India) Ltd has opened another Big Bazaar outlet in Chennai.
The store occupies 53,000 square feet of retail space and retails around 1.6 lakh products across categories including cosmetics, apparel, consumer durables, and food and beverages.
Announcing plans, Rohit Malhotra, head of operations, Pantaloon Retail, South India, said that the company is planning to open around 50 retail outlets in South India over the next two years. Out of these, 15 stores will be in Chennai. By end of this month, six stores will be opened in cities including Mysore, Lucknow, Jaipur and Bharuch.
