Real estate developer DLF Limited has quietly launched the capital’s first luxury mall ‘The Emporio’ in the city’s Vasant Kunj area. The company, however, is keeping news of the opening away from the media and is calling it a ‘soft launch’.
The mall was open to the public with around 20 stores on board after a religious ritual organised by the company. Emporio is slated to house luxury brands including Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Cartier and Harry Winston among others.
Earlier, Indiaretailing had reported that the company has planned to develop a mall adjacent to the Emporio with another one at Saket. The group has already acquired the properties; construction is slated to begin shortly. This endeavour by DLF is in sync with its plans to operate in all verticals of retail, from lifestyle to premium and luxury segments.
