The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has extended the deadline for submitting tenders for three-year duty-free retail contracts at high passenger traffic airports including Thiruvananthapuram, Jaipur, Lucknow, Srinagar and Coimbatore.
According to the AAI, the deadline for tender submissions has been extended from July 23 to September 25.
Apart from extending the deadline, the authority has also changed some of the provisions in the tenders for duty free retail licences, including new details on the spaces available.
For instance, at Coimbatore, 151 square feet of retail space is being offered now whereas, previously, only 97 square feet had been offered. Similarly, the newly planned international terminals at Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram airports will also offer more shopping space.
In terms of space licence fees, Thiruvananthapuram Airport will cost $69 per square metre per month, while Jaipur, Lucknow, Srinagar and Coimbatore airports will charge $44 per square metre per month.
