Partha Datta Gupta, the chief executive officer of Barista, has left the company to join the Swatch Group.
According to sources close to the development, Datta Gupta has replaced Gopalratnam Kannan as the country head of Swatch Group from September 1, 2008.
Many feel that this will be a shift in industry for Datta Gupta, as he carries over 18 years of experience in the FMCG industry.
Before joining Barista on June 2005, Partha Datta Gupta was associated with Agro Tech Foods Ltd for over six years. He had started his professional career with Cadbury India Ltd in 1987 after completing his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Mumbai and his post graduation from IIM Kolkata.
