The Future Group, India’s retail monarch, has lined up to add 4 more stores in a quick span of just 5 days.
The group has already launched its Big Bazaar store in Mysore on September 26 and likely to open its Cuttack, Delhi and Pune stores by September 30. By this the count, Big Bazaar stores in the country will grow to 101.
At a time when inflationary pressures and the economic slowdown have curtailed the purchasing power of consumers, causing many retailers to pause their expansion plans, the recent slew of launches by the Future Group proves Kishore Biyani’s aggressive business expansion plans and his trust in the bouyant Indian consumers.
By 2011, the group aims to own 300 Big Bazaars. Also, Pantaloon Retail (India) Ltd, the group’s flagship company, will have an estimated revenue of Rs 130 billion.
