If the last week was a complete fiasco, there is little to cheer for the investors on the start of this week. While the strong pullback rally caused the 30-share index Sensex to add 7.61 per cent to close at 11329.11, the 50-share index Nifty too earned 210.75 or 6.04 per cent to close at 3,490.70.
It will be early to comment whether the bulls are really back on Dalal Street but surely, a gain of 801.26 points on the benchmark index of BSE, Sensex, showed a glimpse of the same on Monday.
Positive global cues saw a good day of trade today. Besides Sensex and Nifty, the other indices performed well too. CNX Midcap index and BSE Smallcap index were up 6.18 and 3.85 per cent respectively. All sectoral indices were in the positive led by banking, consumer goods and power stocks. The market breadth was positive with advances at 949 against declines of 341 on the NSE.
