Following the route adopted by established telecom players in India, Reliance’s BIG TV redefines the direct-to-home (DTH) retail services by selling its recharge vouchers (RCVs) at a network close to 75,000 outlets spread over 10,000 towns.
Retail outlets of almost every genre including local grocery stores, gift stores, and utility stores, are being roped in to ensure maximum penetration and easy accessibility for customers, said a top company official.
“Accessibility has been the biggest hurdle in the growth of the DTH services in India. With RCVs, our endeavour is to get as close as possible to our customer’s doorstep,” said Mahesh Prasad, president, Reliance Communications’ Application Services Group.
BIG TV DTH recharge vouchers (RCVs) will also be available at the existing network of 100,000 retailers, 250 Reliance Web Worlds, 219 Reliance mobile stores, and 40,000-odd telecom outlets. The options of recharging online or through the mobile phone might be possible soon.
