At a time when pink slips and salary cuts are almost as popular as “offering of the day” with the financial downturn penetrating deep, Vishal Retail has announced that the company has opened 11 outlets last fortnight.
The business initiative from the house of Vishal comes as a fillip to the retail industry when industry stalwarts are busy analysing the financial turmoil and its after effects.
According to the company’s filing to Bombay Stock Exchange today, Vishal Retail has now reached a store count of 177 spreading across an area of 29,60,200 square feet.
Among the new showrooms, the one at Indore, Madhya Pradesh occupies maximum area of 30,500 square feet, followed by the Kolhapur, Maharastra showroom (24,000 square feet), and Puli, J&K (12,600 square feet). The other new showrooms have been opened in New Delhi, Lucknow, Nagpur, Kangra and Bhadrak
