GameStop, world’s leading retail gaming destination, plans to open 20-30 stores worldwide by the end of this week, said a top company official.
However, the company plans to have 200-300 outlets by 2009. “Our plan for 2009 is to open 200-300 stores worldwide. It is important to us to continue to grow our market share and continue to make good decisions,” said James Kirk, vice president, GameStop.
GameStop is also eying the Middle East and India, with a view to new openings in 2010. “That is our 2-3 year horizon. In the meantime, we will continue to look at the Middle East and there has been some talk about China and the far East,” added Kirk.
