Mumbai-based Wadhawan Food Retail Pvt Ltd (WFRPL) plans to double the number of its existing S-Mart stores in the next 12-18 months, informed Bhaskar Rao, CEO, WFRPL.
S-Mart stores are based on the concept of neighbourhood food and grocery stores located in residential areas. The 100 per cent subsidiary of WFRPL, S-Mart currently operates in Bangaluru, Mysore, Mandya, Hubli, Belgaum and Gokak with a total count of 50.
WFRPL operates convenience stores under brands — Spinach, Sabka Bazaar and S-Mart brands, has launched its 50th S-Mart store in Bangaluru. Further, the total count of convenience stores of the company is 200.
