Danish beer company Carlsberg, after one year of its operations in India, plans to double its market share to 10 per cent. “India is a long term strategic market for Carlsberg. Last year was the first phase of the foundation year wherin we set up the breweries and launched the brands. The second phase now is to go pan-India with both our brands and achieve 10 per cent market share,” said Pradeep Gidwani, managing director, Carlsberg India to Business Standard.
The two brands Gidwani talked about are –Okocim Palone in the strong beer category and and Carlsberg in the mild beer category.
Carlsberg is now undertaking phase two of its India strategy ie expanding its national presence.
