Italian travel item and lifestyle brand Piquadro has announced that it will open 15 more stores over the next five years in India. The brand, which has recently opened its maiden store in the national capital, has also indicated to establish its grip over the Rs 8 billion Indian branded luggage market.
Jayshree Chowdhury, brand head, Piquadro India, said, “We plan to open a total of 16 outlets by 2012-13 and our next store will be operational in February 2009. We are basically targeting the premium segment customer in the metros and tier I cities.”
Piquadro has set up a 51:49 joint venture (JV) with DLF Group’s retail management arm DLF Brands for its India operation.
The brand is currently operational in 20 countries including Australia, Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Russia, UK and the US.
