Kurl-On, India’s leading mattress manufacturer, has announced its plan to enter furniture segment and has tied-up with Italian designer Cesare for designing and developing its furniture products. As part of the plan, the company has set up a furniture manufacturing plant in Bengaluru, reports The Hindu.
Further, the company is planning to strengthen its international presence and will supply products in countries including Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia by next year.
G Sivaram, chief marketing officer, Kurl-On, said, “With this initiative, we want to provide a complete range of home products to our customers.”
“We are also planning to strengthen our product portfolio and will be introducing items like stain resistant bed linen and spring mattresses. We expect to touch a turnover of Rs 400 crore (Rs 4 billion) this financial year,” added Sivaram.
Earlier, IndiaRetailing reported that the company is planning to open around 200 new stores by mid-2009 to retail a portfolio of around 8,000 designs across the country.
