With an aim to increase its presence across India, Delhi-based herbal beauty products manufacturing company Nature’s Essence has aggressive plans to invest 70 to 100 million to launch around 30 company-owned salons and further, plans to unveil 15 to 20 new products by 2009-end. The decade old company has over 1,200 distributors and targets to increase this number to 2,000 by the FY09 end, revealed a top company official.
The 500 million-company also plans to launch around 70 franchised outlets this year. Presently it has three company-owned salons, two in Delhi and one in Kanpur. The salons to be launched would spread across an area of 2,000 to 2,500 square feet while the franchise outlets area would stretch to 800 to 1,000 square feet. Saurabh Nanda, director, Nature’s Essence said, “We plan to contribute 100 per cent to the 25 per cent cosmetic industry, so we are planning an investment of 1 million per franchisee and total 70 to 100 million on the retail expansion. Basically, we plan to open franchise outlets more as it has the controlling power with a right amount of profit sharing.”
Recently the company unveiled its new range of lipsticks under the brand name Color Essence which is available in various organised retail segment including Big Bazaar, Big Apple, Reliance Retail outlets, Vishal Mega Mart and others, as well as, through selected cosmetic counters across the country. “The Color Essence range consists of many colors and has been developed with inputs from Germany and Korea. This year, we plan to launch 15 to 20 products including a foray into spa range and liquid color range,” added Nanada.
Nature’s Essence is a leading manufacturer, exporter and importer of an array of beauty products like cleansers, toners, scrubs, moisturisers, massage cream, face powder, hair bleach, hair dryer, peel offs, soaps, hand cream, foot care and much more. “It has operations in 24 countries and aims to be a one billion entity by the end of this year,” concluded Nanda.
