Sri Lanka is famed for its excellent needle work and socially responsible manufacturing. “It is envisaged that Indian designers, brands and retailers realize the potential for placing business with Sri Lankan Apparel manufacturers. Such collaboration can use the lucrative Sri lankan Free Trade Agreement with India,” said Ajith Dias, chairman, Joint Apparel Association Forum, Sri Lanka.
Adding further about his expectations from forthcoming India Fashion Forum 2009 scheduled to be held on January 27-28, in Mumbai, Dias shared, “The Sri Lankan delegation looks forward to IFF ’09 to showcase our capabilities and creating partnerships with Indian entrepreneurs.”
The industry that IFF is addressing is estimated at over Rs 3,500 billion and hence the significance of this edition is critical in reviving business sentiments. Gautam Hari Singhania, CMD, Raymond Limited will be chairing the forthcoming IFF ‘09.
Themed ‘Fashion 2009: Get the Power!’, the forum will see over 200 thought leaders and global honchos devising strategies to add energy and empower the categories that drive consumption in modern India.
