FMCG major Hindustan Unilever has posted a net profit of Rs 6157.40 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 6314.40 million for the corresponding figure of 2007.
Total income has increased from Rs 37894.00 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 to Rs 43786.70 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2008, said the company in a disclosure to Bombay Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the vice chairman and CFO of the Mumbai-based company D Sundaram has also decided to retire from his current portfolio as well as the board of the company. His retirement will take place in July 2009, said a company press release.
Speaking on Sundaram’s retirement, Harish Manwani, chairman, HUL, informed that R Sridhar will succeed as the new CFO of the company.
Sridhar is currently serving as vice president, finance and controller, Unilever, for Asia, Africa and Central & Eastern Europe.
