Personal and healthcare products manufacturer Emami Ltd has posted net sales of Rs 2.81 billion, around 44 per cent up in the quarter ended on December 31, 2008. While the consolidated turnover for the nine months ended in the same period is at Rs 6.1 billion, up by 50.4 per cent from its corresponding figure in the previous year, according to a company press release.
The company posted a profit after tax of Rs 2,862 lakh in the third quarter ended December 31, 2008, which a low from its previous year corresponding figures of Rs 3,73.5 lakh.
Further, the company has recorded a consistent growth for its brands like Fair and Handsome, Navratna Oil, Boroplus Antiseptic Cream, Menthoplus Balm and other new products.
In 2008, the company added six new products that include Boroplus Summer Body Lotion, Navratna Extra Thanda Oil, Navratna Lite Oil, Mr and Mrs Black Powder Hair Dye, Pure Skin Glycerin Soap and Vasocare petroleum jelly. Also, Emami has acquired around 69 per cent stake in Zandu Pharmaceuticals and its international business grown by 96 per cent during the quarter with revenues of Rs. 280 million
