With an aim to increase its footprints in India, contact lens maker Bausch & Lomb plans to take its number from 5,500 outlets to about 7,000 outlets by 2012. Further, the company also plans to launch its latest globally available products simultaneously in India, according to a top company official.
“In the next three years, our objective is to increase our distribution by making our products available to another 1,500 outlets in India,” said Harish Natarajan, MD, Bausch & Lomb India.
Commenting on the current economic slowdown’s impact on the company Natarajan said, “It has impacted to an extend by making it more apprehensive for the new users. People are reluctant to try out but it has not impacted the existing users.”
Bausch & Lomb products are available in more than100 countries and in India, it is growing at a rate of 20 to 25 per cent.
