Bharti Wal-Mart, a joint venture between India’s Bharti Enterprise and Wal-Mart Stores of the US that operates wholesale, cash-and-carry and back-end supply chain management operations in the country, has named its stores as BestPrice Modern Wholesale.
The first store of the chain is scheduled to open in Punjab this year and the membership registration for the stores has begun, according to a company press release. Raj Jain, MD and CEO, Bharti Wal-Mart, said, “The stores will be a one-stop-shop that will meet the day-to-day needs of traders with a wide range of 6,000-10,000 products, including food and non-food items.”
“We are firmly on track and have begun registration of membership in Punjab ahead of store opening to enable us serve the needs of our commercial customers. We expect around 60,000 business owners to be benefited from the membership drive,” added Jain.
The stores would meet the day-to-day needs of traders, restaurant owners, hoteliers, caterers, fruit and vegetable resellers, kiranas among others, added the release.
