Primark Stores Ltd, an Irish apparel retailer with dominant presence in Ireland, UK, Netherlands and Spain, has achieved around five per cent sales rise in the last six months. However, the operating profit margin is expected to be lower in April because of the opening of a new distribution centre, reports Retail Week.
Since January 2009, Primark has opened three new stores in Spain, bringing the total to 12 and made its debut in the Netherlands in Rotterdam. Currently, the company operates 187 stores and will open its first stores in Portugal and Germany in the second half of this year, adds the report.
