In sync with company’s plan to open 40 new stores by the end of first quarter of 2009, India’s leading footwear retailer Bata India has opened its upmarket flagship store in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon, Haryana. Spread across 2,000 square feet, the newly launched store retails over 800 new designs of footwear, according to a company press release.
Speaking to media on the store launch, Marcelo Villagran, group managing director, Bata India, said, “Bata India plans to open 60 new stores every year. These new stores are aimed at meeting the shoe requirements of customers across the country by providing the latest footwear designs at great prices.”
“These stores will operate in a four-tier retail format under a new retail model — up-market flagship stores, smart and trendy city stores, super stores and traditional family stores,” added Villagran.
These new stores will primarily be located in tier I and II cities including Sonepat, Kota, Jodhpur, Ludhiana, Kakinada, Berampur, Mandya, Gangtok, Hassan, Hubli, Ahmednagar and Nasik, added the release.
